If you've had a quote from us and seen a line item that says "VEEC discount", here's exactly what it means.
What are VEECs? VEECs are created under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program. When you install eligible energy-efficient equipment, you generate certificates based on the projected lifetime energy savings of that upgrade.
How VEECs work in practice You don't trade the certificates yourself. They're assigned to an accredited provider in exchange for an upfront discount on your installation.
What upgrades create VEECs? - Heat pump hot water — usually the biggest VEEC value - Refrigerative heating and cooling replacing gas ducted heating - Induction cooktops replacing gas
Real-world example A 315L heat pump installed in Echuca might generate around 85 VEECs. At roughly $30 each, that's $2,550 off — plus the $1,000 Solar Victoria hot water rebate = about $3,550 in total savings.
Solar On Electrical handles all VEEC paperwork as part of every eligible installation.
